Greywolf did a post recently about article submission sites such as PRWeb and Ezine. It actually ended up being more of a survey on the subject. I have always felt that an article on one of these sites only helps if it gets outside of the predefined content network. I also try to have a slightly altered version of the content on my own site to make sure that I don’t get dinged for duplicate content. Another advantage of doing this also helps to establish my site as the link point if it is picked up by bloggers. However, this stuff only works when you actually have something newsworthy to submit.
If you don’t have anything witty to offer there is still a way to put those article sites to good use. They can be used to boost up your Digg, Topix.net and other UGC spam. A few crappy links can go a long way when they’re pointed at your article on a big UGC site, and exactly what most article syndication sites have to offer when you submit mediocre content. A few crappy links. No you can put those crappy links to good use.
