Headed up to Indian Cave State Park for the 24th and 25th. This was really the last weekend of the spring to go backpacking. It was a beautiful trip. The red bud trees were in bloom and speckled the landscape with pink.
For this trip I started at trail head 8 and hiked up trail 8A to trail head 3, then down trail 8 (Rock Bluff Run) back to trail head 8. I then restocked my water at the car (since there aren't any reliable water sources and I'm not refilling in the Missouri).
After restocking my water supply a headed south toward the trial leading to the Indian Cave. However, at the southern point were 11, 10 and Hardwood Trail meet I saw a nice meadow open up to the right. You can see this in the pictures above. It was lined with Red Bud Trees and looked cool so I camped along the edge of that for the night.
